WASHINGTON, D.C., DECEMBER 1, 2010 – MultiDyne Video & Fiber Optic Systems, a premier provider of fiber optic-based video and audio transport and routing solutions for broadcast and pro A/V applications, will feature the new MultiDyne Fiber-Saver at GV Expo 2010 (Booth 552). The MultiDyne Fiber-Saver is an innovative solution for combining as many as 18 HD-SDI feeds, or optical signals of any wavelength onto one single-mode fiber. This allows stadiums, arenas and ball fields to increase signal capacity without the need to install more multi-strand fiber optic cables.

Mobile trucks, OB vans and facility managers can now offer expanded video and audio capacity when hosting major events without having to deal with additional fiber cabling and the associated costs. The MultiDyne Fiber-Saver transport accepts SDI video signals ranging from 270Mbs up to 3Gbs and converts them into optical signals. These signals can then be combined with other optical signals of any wavelength and then transported over one fiber.

“With the ever increasing signal counts at live events as well as corporate facilities, there becomes greater need to increase capacity over existing fiber infrastructure,” says Frank Jachetta, managing director, MultiDyne. ”The Fiber-Saver allows users to take up to 18 of their existing fiber units and send them down one fiber. Imagine the alternative of running more fiber through an existing stadium or under a city street.”

The MultiDyne Fiber-Saver has the capacity to handle any combination up to 18 existing transmitter/receiver or new copper HD-SDI feeds that are then combined and sent over just one single-mode fiber. Consider the system expansion capability offered by the MultiDyne Fiber-Saver; an 18-strand fiber cable could now provide enough capacity for 17 new feeds in addition to the signals handled by the MultiDyne Fiber-Saver that uses only one strand from the 18-strand cable.

The MultiDyne Fiber-Saver cards have been designed for the openGear frame, expanding MultiDyne’s openGear product offerings. This is an ideal method to expand system capacity over one fiber, using only 2RU of rack space. The SNMP Dash-Board monitoring system provides for both local and remote monitoring of the transport.

WASHINGTON, D.C., NOVEMBER 30, 2010 – MultiDyne Video & Fiber Optic Systems, a premier provider of fiber optic-based video and audio transport and routing solutions for broadcast and pro A/V applications, will be making its debut in the RF Fiber transport space with the introduction of its new MultiDyne SatLink SL-2150 Satellite Fiber Optic Link at this year’s GV Expo 2010 (Booth 552) in Washington, D.C. With the new SatLink SL-2150, satellite dishes can connect with distant control rooms, network operation centers or broadcast head ends.

The SatLink SL-2150 not only offers an alternative to coaxial cabling in teleport earth stations, but it has been designed to provide very low carrier-to-noise ratio and linear performance, resulting in a cost-effective and technically superior installation for the satellite signal user. MultiDyne products have traditionally been engineered to give industry-leading performance when compared with any other fiber optic links, the company’s SatLink SL-2150 links have ultra wide dynamic range so that auto gain control is not required to cope with changing signal intensity caused by meteorological conditions. The SatLink SL-2150 offers a range of options to address a variety of installations, such as 75or 50impedance with either BNC or F connectors. The standard link utilizes a high performance DFB laser, but for less demanding short haul applications, a lower cost FP laser option is available.

“MultiDyne is excited to introduce the new SatLink SL-2150 links, offering a compact and economical solution for RF fiber transport,” says Frank Jachetta, Managing Director, MultiDyne. “The introduction of the SatLink SL-2150 signifies entry into the RF fiber transport market for MultiDyne and brings us to the point of providing each and every signal type of transport over fiber for pro-AV and broadcast.”

The SatLink SL-2150 is a stand-alone unit that may also be rack mounted on the 1RU MultiDyne RMT triple rack mount panel. It is available with ST, LC or FC optical connectors and includes a 5 VDC power supply.

NEW YORK, N.Y., OCTOBER 12, 2010 – MultiDyne Video & Fiber Optic Systems, a premier provider of fiber optic-based video and audio transport and routing solutions for broadcast and pro A/V applications, will introduce the MultiDyne Fiber-Saver at Content & Communications World (CCW) EXPO 2010 (Booth 916). The MultiDyne Fiber-Saver is an innovative solution for combining as many as 18 signals from new HD-SDI camera feeds, and optical signals from existing fiber gear into one single-mode fiber. This allows stadiums, arenas and ball fields to increase signal capacity without the need to pull into place more multi-strand fiber optic cables.<

Mobile trucks, OB vans and facility managers can now offer expanded video and audio capacity when hosting major events without having to deal with additional fiber cabling and costs to cover the event. The MultiDyne Fiber-Saver transport accepts video SDI signals ranging from 270Mbs up to 3Gbs and converts them into an optical signal. The transport also handles the optical signals from existing transmitters and receivers that were previously operating on and using up the limited fiber infrastructure within the facility. The MultiDyne Fiber-Saver can manage these reassigned or displaced transmitter and receiver pairs, freeing up fiber to allow for more signal capacity.

“With HD taking hold, our users, especially in stadiums and arenas, are looking for a cost effective means to easily expand their signal capacity to handle the increase in HD cameras,” says Frank Jachetta, managing director, MultiDyne. “When using a traditional fiber infrastructure users would have to pull in more fiber cables to handle the required signal expansion.”

The MultiDyne Fiber-Saver has the capacity to handle any combination up to 18 existing transmitter/receiver units operating at 1310nm to 1610nm or new HD-SDI feeds that are then combined and sent over just one single-mode fiber. This represents an increase in signal capacity of up to 400%, for each four existing transmitter/receivers that are connected through the MultiDyne Fiber-Saver. Consider the system expansion capability offered by the MultiDyne Fiber-Saver; an 18-strand fiber cable could now provide enough capacity for 17 new feeds in addition to the signals handled by the MultiDyne Fiber-Saver that uses only one strand from the 18-strand cable.

The MultiDyne Fiber-Saver card has been designed for the openGear frame; expanding MultiDyne’s openGear product offerings. This is an ideal method to expand system capacity over one fiber, using only 2RU of rack space.

Lightweight Solution Offers up to 40 HD Signals, Option for a Signal Generator and HD Monitors

AMSTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS, SEPTEMBER 10, 2010 – MultiDyne Video & Fiber Optic Systems, a premier provider of fiber optic-based video and audio transport and routing solutions for broadcast and pro A/V applications, is introducing the HalfCuBE portable fiber optic field transport system at this year’s IBC2010 (Hall 2, Stand A54).

The HalfCuBE allows production teams to bring once-in-a-life-time events to life. Designed for the fiber optic field transport of composite, HD video, PL, IFB, audio and more, the HalfCuBE can solve the challenges presented by multiple audio feeds by allowing for up to 40 channels over just one fiber. The HalfCuBE can also solve the challenges of camera video, viewfinder and intercom feed requirements for both fixed and roaming production cameras. The HalfCuBE is format friendly, ready for standard cameras or the latest 3G HD 1080P production cameras.

In addition, the new test and monitor features make the HalfCuBE especially effective for in-the-field signal monitoring. With an HD monitor and signal generator on either end of the product, users can test the circuit even if the camera has not arrived. Further, the HD test signal generator option also allows users to send the test pattern down the line, or to send the signal from the studio end directly to the HalfCuBE. This function allows users to monitor the camera output and the signals arriving at the shoot, and can be added to any solution in MultiDyne’s LiGHTBoX product line.

“Our new HalfCuBE further extends the options for the fiber optic transport needs of our customers,” says Frank Jachetta, managing director, MultiDyne. “The HalfCuBE offers a flexible, smaller, more cost-effective and extremely high-quality solution that is also customizable, even by the end-user, just half the size and capacity of the MultiDyne LiGHTCuBE.”
Ready to run on batteries for field use or 110/220 VAC power, the 7-inch high design makes the HalfCuBE compact and extremely portable, while still supplying multiple HD and audio signals. A carry handle allow users to “grab-and-go” for remote or on-location productions. A weather resistant cover is also available.

The versatile HalfCuBE can be used in a number of different broadcast and pro A/V situations. It is ideal for applications including graduation ceremonies on the football field, basketball playoffs in the arena or a recital in a packed auditorium. The HalfCuBE can also solve the high performance RGB-HV & DVI display requirements for the overflow rooms, lobby entrances and ball room parties.

The HalfCuBE can be linked using tactical or conventional fiber to any MultiDyne solution, including the DVM-2500, HD-1500, HD-3000, HDMI-ONE, DVI-6000 in addition to many non-MultiDyne products. The HalfCuBE also offers users intercom, PL, IFB and belt pack support. For more information on the HalfCuBE and on MultiDyne’s line of products and customization options, please visit MultiDyne at booth C4823 or at www.multidyne.com.

YONKERS, N.Y., July 6, 2010 - From the second the horses storm out of the gate to the moment the lead contender gallops into the home turn, MultiDyne’s LiGHTBoX field fiber transport system delivers the thrill of the Yonkers Raceway to viewers, from a variety of vantage points. MultiDyne, a premier provider of fiber optic, video and audio transport and routing solutions for broadcast and pro A/V applications, has delivered two units of its award-winning LiGHTBoX to Yonkers Raceway, which employs the systems to transport video from cameras located in strategic spots on the racetrack and the entire complex.

“The MultiDyne LiGHTBoX gives us a lot of flexibility, providing connectivity over one multiple strand of fiber cable,” says Michael Rooney, director of Media Convergence, Empire City Casino/Yonkers Raceway. “We can go places we never thought we could, and whether it’s in the casino, ‘Winner’s Circle’ or down in the paddock, if there’s fiber there, our cameras can be there as well. Also, it was easy to integrate our older analog cameras onto the LiGHTBoX, along with our SD and HD cameras, which gives us more camera shots and flexibility.”

Rooney adds, “I will continue to use the LiGHTBoX for other organizations I work with such as the Pittsburgh Steelers, as well as the Palm Beach Kennel Club and Poker Room in Florida.”

Yonkers Raceway employs two MultiDyne LiGHTBoX units to transport signals from HD, SD and analog cameras, moving throughout the facility, including the paddock, where the horses are presented and showcased before the race, all the action on the track, and finally the Winner’s Circle to capture the jockey and his winning horse. Thanks to the flexibility and portability of the LiGHTBoX, the raceway can place cameras at a variety of angles, giving viewers a bird’s eye view of the track action. The facility also uses the LiGHTBoX to operate its intercoms, allowing camera operators to communicate with one another as well as the control room.

A battery powered, bi-directional HD and analog video field fiber transport system designed for field and harsh environment applications, the LiGHTBoX is the ideal, portable solution to transport video, audio, intercom and control signals over long distances, making it perfect for a high-octane sport such as horse racing.

Frank Jachetta, Managing Director, MultiDyne, states, “Horse racing is an exhilarating, heart-pounding type of sport, which can be hard to translate to TV viewers not actually at the track. The LiGHTBoX gives Yonkers Raceway incredible flexibility when it comes to where cameras can be placed, not to mention the ability to stand up to dust and grit kicked up by the horses. We’re thrilled that our LiGHTBoX helps the Yonkers Raceway events truly come alive for viewers.”

For more information on the LiGHTBoX, please visit www.multidyne.com.

LAS VEGAS, JUNE 9, 2010 – MultiDyne Video & Fiber Optic Systems, a premier provider of fiber optic-based video and audio transport and routing solutions for broadcast and pro A/V applications, will showcase its new openGear-compatible HD-4400-CWDM at InfoComm 2010 . Making its InfoComm debut, MultiDyne’s HD-4400-CWDM will provide customers with unprecedented density, redundancy and control – offering a massive 18 HD signals on one fiber.

The HD-4400-CWDM card transports four 3G, HD-SDI signals over one fiber. This fiber can be patched to additional HD-4400-CWDM cards, for a total of 18 3G HD-SDI signals over one fiber, in just five slots. With such high density, one openGear 2RU frame can transport a total of 18 bi-directional signals (36 3G, HD-SDI signals over two fibers), making the solution ideal for high-capacity fiber trunking of 3G HD-SDI signals in any broadcast facility.

LOCUST VALLEY, NY, APRIL 27, 2010 – MultiDyne Video & Fiber Optic Systems, a premier provider of fiber optic-based video and audio transport and routing solutions for broadcast and pro A/V applications, is helping NASA TV document history at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD. With several major space missions, NASA TV’s production team called upon MultiDyne to provide its HD-1500 fiber optic link and RGB-5000 systems to transport video from the center’s Space Telescope Operations Control Center (STOCC). These solutions moved video from across campus to the NASA TV control room, capturing several exciting moments in national history and displaying them for the public on NASA TV.

Two years ago, the TV production staff at the NASA Goddard Flight Center began looking for a video transport solution that would take advantage of the NASA campus’ robust fiber optic infrastructure. Production staff met with MultiDyne representatives at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) convention to discuss their needs and equipment criteria for NASA projects. As MultiDyne equipment features HD video capability and adheres to SMPTE standards, the center’s TV production manager selected the HD-1500 and RGB-5000 solutions, with plans to upgrade to the DVI-6000.

The MultiDyne HD-1500 supports the distribution of digital signals from 5 Mbps to 1.5 Gbps over singlemode fiber, transporting video from three Panasonic cameras installed in the STOCC to the NASA TV control room. From there, video of the action-packed control room is used on NASA’s full-time satellite TV channel, on a daily “STOCC Update” TV program as well as for B-roll for various news organizations, documenting history for the public. In addition to the shots of the STOCC, the TV production staff also used MultiDyne’s RGB-5000 to transport real-time animation from NASA’s telemetry programs, incorporating high-resolution data from the spacecraft into NASA TV’s live programming. Recent NASA missions that were filmed include Servicing Mission 4, the final servicing mission for the famous Hubble Telescope, and the landmark launch of the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO), which represents the first step in NASA’s return to the Moon.

“Using our products, NASA TV has been able to design a high-tech system for transporting video across its campus, making sure that HD video of NASA’s milestones is available to the public,” says Frank Jachetta, managing director, MultiDyne. “It’s a thrill for us to be able to work with such a visionary agency as NASA and we look forward to continuing to provide it with our proven solutions for all of its fiber optic video transport needs at the Goddard Center.”
